  3. Maramar says:
'The Last In Love' is memorable if saccharine and 'Til The Bars Burn Down' stands out as the album's rocker. Souther, though, still writes great lyrics about the everyday business of love. The title track harks back to 'Only The Lonely' and there is a sense that Souther has gone a bit sentimental on this album, but it's still good value/5().

  6. Fet says:
Besides "You're Only lonely" and "White Rhythm and Blues", this album is basic 70's countrified rock, but is still a pleasing listen all the same save for the silly "Fifteen Bucks", which is probably one of the few songs by Souther I can't stand. If you like the eagles or are just buying for the title track, go for it/5(98).
  7. Dozuru says:
(), was sadly underrated, one of the finest of the year, and has held up very well. It's full of good songs and genuine emotions. The second LP, Black Rose (), is best remembered for the most hilarious and/or pathetic advertising pitch ever: "The Scent of Genius." On You're Only Lonely, the artist's pretentiousness and self-satisfaction sink him like a stone.
